Restaurants in Livingstone, Zambia
Livingstone in Zambia is most known for being the hometown of Victoria Falls. But that is not all the city has to offer. There are an array of cuisines on offer to cater to everyone’s different tastes. Here are six restaurants to try delicious Food in Livingstone, Zambia.
1. Cafe Zambezi
Cafe Zambezi is situated along Mosi-oa-tunya road in Livingstone. This restaurant specialises in African and Caribbean cuisine. It is very unassuming as from the outside there is signage which makes it look like its a takeaway. However, this is far from what it has to offer. When you enter the restaurant, you are taken inside where it opens into a spectacular courtyard.
Our visit was for our first Zambian dinner. There was live music playing and it had a warm and open atmosphere.
The dishes we had were the crocodile ribs and a baby chicken. Both meals were scrumptious and I would definitely recommend trying the crocodile ribs, its something different and a pleasant surprise. The total cost for our meal was 400 Kwacha. The portions were very large and we had leftovers.

They have a common area at the front of the establishment which includes tables, a pool, TV, kitchen and bar. This restaurant offers a variety of meals. It is a cozy and friendly space.
Our meal of choice was breakfast at Jollyboys as this was the most convenient for our early morning adventures.
We had the Hobo breakfast which consists of two eggs (your choice of cooking) and two slices of toast. This cost 30 Kwacha per meal. A buddy bottle of coke cost 12 Kwacha.

3. Olgas – The Italian Corner
Olgas – The Italian Corner is a bed and breakfast accommodation. But they also have a restaurant on the premises which is open to anyone. From the name they offer a variety of Italian meals with a special focus on pizza. This restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating and is a very welcoming place.
They offer tramezzinis and pasta, however as Olgas does specialise in pizza, that was the obvious chose for us. We chose a large Nkuku pizza which consists of a tomato base, chicken, mushroom, olives, green peppers and cheese. The pizza cost 90 Kwacha. The drinks we ordered cost 10 Kwacha for a 500ml cool drink and 5 Kwacha for a 500 ml bottle of water.
Olgas is a worthy cause to support as profits generated from their restaurant are channelled towards their education project for the development of vulnerable youth. So in addition to the delicious food, you are supporting a good initiative.

4. The Golden Leaf
The Golden Leaf is a restaurant which specialises in Indian cuisine. This restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The outside is adorned with a giant golden leaf which aptly describes the name. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
They offer numerous Indian meals from curries to rice dishes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. From previous experiences of ordering Indian curry and knowing the portion sizes, we chose to share a portion of prawn masala. The prawn masala cost 107 Kwacha. We had two garlic parathas to accompany the curry. The parathas cost 38 Kwacha for both. In addition we ordered soft drinks. Our bill in total was 200 Kwacha.
This was by far one of the best Indian meals I have had. It was absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a flavour packed meal, definitely try them out.

Zest Bar and Restaurant offers a scrumptious menu which includes pizza, burgers and their signature espetadas. Espetadas are dishes which involve cooking meat on skewers. This restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. It offers a unique vibe and they often have live bands offering entertainment.
We tried the piri piri wings and the haloumi and mushroom skewers. These were incredibly amazing. We still speak about those wings. It was spicy but divinely delicious. We can’t wait to go back just to have those wings. With the inclusion of our drinks, our bill was a total of 167 Kwacha.
Wherever we have went we have not had authentic piri piri cuisine but those wings knocked it out the park and made a lasting impression. A definite item to try.
