Pops Playhouse

We are always on the lookout for a safe, entertaining and child-friendly place to take our toddler. And sometimes even though a place may be child-friendly, it’s more suitable for older kids. So going to Pops Playhouse was a breath of fresh air for us and our toddler.

Where about?

You will find this “hidden gem” in Durban North. It is easily accessible off the main road. It is basically a house which has been entirely converted into a kid’s play haven. They have security at the entrance and parking situated outside the venue. Although there isn’t a lot of parking, but from what we have heard, they are working on increasing the parking space.

What to Expect?

There are tons of activities which will keep your little one occupied for hours. You will find slides (of different sizes), a sand pit, a climbing wall, a Lego room, an art room, a changing area, and so much more. Your kids won’t want you to leave. They also have a soft playroom completely covered for smaller kids to play on. Other things which your child can enjoy include the use of their bikes, balls, and toys.

At Pops Playhouse, they also have a spa and beauty area, where parents can pamper themselves while their kids are busy playing. You can call to make an appointment prior to arriving.

There is also a mobile coffee shop where you are able to purchase drinks and food to keep you and the kids going for the day.

In addition, there are ample staff members who are always walking around to make sure that you and your kid/s are comfortable and to assist with any of your needs.

As the venue has security at the entrance and staff members, you can be rest assured that only parents and kids who are utilising the facilities are allowed onto the premises.

How much?

Kid – R100.00 each

It costs just R100.00 per child for the duration of the day. And the child gets to use the facilities and play until they close, which is very reasonable. There is no charge for parents to accompany their child.

There are some exclusions, if your child wants to make use of some of the art material in the art room then that is at an additional cost. When you enter and pay your entrance fee, they do advise you of what is covered and what is not.

Pops Playhouse also offers hiring of the venue for parties and other occasions. We actually hired out the venue when we hosted our baby’s first birthday party and it was a lovely experience. You can enquire as to the pricing depending on the duration of your function and when it will occur.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a fun, safe place with a bunch of activities for your child then this is definitely the place to take them. It is affordable and offers something for kids and parents alike.
